Tonight we celebrate women songwriters and/or songs made famous by women performed by a variety of singers and musicians backed by The Picks, a Handsome Ladies pick-up band. Featuring Bay Area local legends and talents Mary Gibbons (guitar), Martha Hawthorne (bass), Amy Scher (fiddle), Hailey Pexton (mandolin) and The Handsome Ladies' own, Yennie Brecheisen (banjo), the evening is sure to be one for the ages.
We're pleased to announce that the following members of our broader bluegrass community have been selected to perform in our variety showcase:
"Miss Leo" Matthews
The evening will be emcee'd by "The Facilitator" Jessica Furui with a special intermission performance of the Loud Ladies Foot Patrol.
Show starts promptly at 7pm. Come one, come all!
The Handsome Ladies are back to host the RBA Concert Series' pre-show open/co-ed jam before John Reischman & the Jaybird's performance! Come on out before the show and pick! The jam is free, tickets for the show can be purchased through the RBA.

The Handsome Ladies Presents: The Hossettes and Paper Wings
The Handsome Ladies is pleased to announce a night of old time and bluegrass brought to you by some of the Bay Area’s best talent. The evening begins with an open bluegrass jam hosted by members of The Handsome Ladies from 6pm-7:30pm.
The show opens at 8pm with the haunting vocals and extraordinary playing of Paper Wings, with Emily Mann (fiddle, banjo, vocals) and Wilhelmina (guitar, vocals). Between the two, these ladies have performed with Aoife O'Donovan, Darol Anger, Sean Watkins, Tim O'Brien and Laurie Lewis.
The second half of the show features Bay Area bluegrass favorites, The Hossettes, comprised of Angela Personeni (banjo, vocals), Hailey Pexton (mandolin, guitar, vocals), Karen Wilhoyte (guitar, mandolin, vocals), Julie Cooper (fiddle, vocals) and Larissa Pilatti (bass). The group playing fierce traditional bluegrass classics with a focus on three-part harmonies, most recently performed at Toledo Bluegrass Festival in Washington State and was a Showcase Band at the California Bluegrass Association’s epic Bakersfield pick, The Great 48.
