Michelle Haft is a native Los Angeleno, identical twin and recent southern convert now living in Nashville, TN. She plays the five-string banjo in Scruggs, clawhammer and two-finger picking styles. She got her start in music singing in choirs and performance groups around Los Angeles, and she once sang for Quincy Jones and the King of Jordan. She now plays in a duo band called The Family Shipp with her husband, guitar and fiddle player Joseph Shipp. When she's not hosting Handsome Ladies jams and playing square dances, she works as Creative Lead for a local Nashville tech startup.
